Just imagine our surprise when we received an envelope in the mail today with a letter and an SD card inside from Elder Landon Dean Layton!!! I about FREAKED OUT!! Now remember, he is unable to mail anything out of Benin so we thought our first chance at getting pictures might be in July, I think it was. That is when an american elder is returning to the states and was going to mail us a card then. Many of the families don't get pictures for several months and I might not for several more.
It is what it is...Africa!
So how did I get them?
There is a senior couple in his mission and their son was there visiting. He offered to bring something home and mail it out for them. He lives in St. George, Utah and he is my Angel that had a very exciting errand to perform! Here are a few of the pictures! THANK YOU :)
At the mission home upon arrival in Benin with President and Sister Weed.
Elder Layton's bedroom with 4 beds. Right side of the desk is his study space. They sleep under these nets to help with mosquitoes. A fan is their source of air to keep cool and be comfortable.
Elder Layton and his 1st trainer Elder Ngombua... (I think?)
Outside the church.
A look down the street.
School children. The school is right by their apartment. Which I am sure make for some extra excitement!
I will share more pictures over time :)
*Thank you Landon for taking such great pictures and thinking of us!
We LoVe you!!!
