Oratio's Baptism

Dearest Family,

     Happy 46 weeks left!! You didn't even believe me when I said it like that huh...? How insane is that!? And don't think that I am counting weeks or anything. I was just wondering and figured it out in like 2 seconds on my phone. Elder Desvergez got some music from Elder Terronova when he lived with him and one of them was "I'll be home for Christmas" by Michael Buble and I was all like.... Ohhhh myyyyy gooossssh I'll be home for Christmas! Whoa!

(Kinda freaked out like the Target lady from SNL) It was good like always to hear from you and about your week. Ice storm... It looks like FREEZE from Batman and Robin came through Bountiful and just shot

you guys up! I bet that was a pretty fun adventure! We have been having really odd rain lately... People are saying that you NEVER see rain here in January. But I guess God is shedding some merci on the new Elders that came in not too long ago. The weather here has been really nice! I think for once I am happy to have the weather here and not there... I think you said that the ice was melted, but if not be safe and don't go sliding anywhere.

when he actually bit the head off of a fish... Classic Mike ;) What did they take all the little fish for? Are they planning on going fishing soon? People fish here too! But not with  poles. They put huge nets in the ocean like in Jesus’ time. (Shows how advanced we are here.) It is cool to watch them though! (Oh my sweet Elder doesn't understand that that is how legit fishermen fish. With nets! Can you imagine catching just one fish at a time? But that is the only way he has ever fished;) 

I have always wanted to take a picture but people get mad when you take pictures here... Or just call you Yovo (White) and then you feel stupid haha. And Jordan just told me that Cameron got accepted into BYU law with a scholarship!! That is awesome!! There is an example of a hard worker right there.

     For me here in Togo, the week went by faster than the last! Like last week, I don't really have much to say... Everything was pretty mundane this week! We did have interviews with President on Friday and those went well! It is always fun to get to talk to him and Sister Weed! While one Elder is in talking with President,

Sister Weed teaches a lesson and it is usually on health and safety stuff. Or, like this time, simple rules that need to be followed. He came and was there for little under an hour. On Saturday we had 2 baptisms! I will try and attach some pictures! (They wouldn't attach.) One was with Oration, a 40 year old used-to-be Baptist, and Sandra, a 15 year old sister of one of our recent converts, Gisele. With Oratio, I honestly didn't even think that he was going to be baptized so I never said anything about him to you... But little by little he finally made it to the waters of baptism! He didn't have any intentions of leaving his church... But he wanted to keep talking to us because he said that we taught how the bible really is. When his baptism came up, and we asked him the interview questions a couple days before, he said that he knew that the Book of Mormon was true, but he did not know about Joseph Smith, and Thomas S. Monson being a prophet today... We explained to him that if he knew the Book of Mormon was true than everything else that we have taught him was true as well. He seemed to really take to that idea and was ready for baptism! We are waiting for his wife to come around... She is a little more active in her church and was kind of upset that her husband even invited the missionaries over. But she said that she overheard some of our conversations (she didn't want to talk with us), and she said that we taught the truth. I am really excited to see his progression in the church!

     Oh yes, and I did get my package!!! Whooooo!!!!! Can you say BEST PACKAGE/BEST FAMILY EVER!!!!!??? Thank you guys so much! I loved everything that was in it! Oreo’s?

Atta way to think right there... And the food! Perfect! You killed this one... In the best way possible. Like killed in the good way! I loved everything you guys sent! And now I am going to get fat..... That is a downfall. But I will be sure to enjoy this wonderful package that you sent me! You guys really are the bomb! Thank you!

     Well other than all that, I am pretty much done for today... Thank you so much for all that you do for me, and the support that you give me! I love you and wish you a good week!
