"You will be an official representative of the Church . . . Your purpose will be to invite others to come unto Christ . . . Greater blessings and more happiness than you have yet experienced await you as you humbly and prayerfully serve the Lord in this labor of love among His children." . . . Thomas S. Monson

Adilède and Her 3 Daughters Baptism

Adilède and her 3 daughters Mervielle, Chrystelle and Vainqueur
The lady in the blue dress is the YW President
Dear Family,

It was good to hear from you guys! It sounds like everything is going good and everyone is healthy! The living room seems to be going well. The wallpaper looks good too! I didn't know people still wallpapered... If not you are sure bringing it back into style! It looks good! I am super excited to see the finished product. And yes I do remember the Sesame Street wallpaper! Such a good mom who thought that I would like that. That drive from Alabama sounds like a brutal one for dad... I don't think that I could do it! I guess that it is all worth it though. That is fun to see the business growing like it is.

This week... Not much has been going on. Just still getting used to the sector. We have a lot of good progressing amis, and are going to have a baptism this Saturday, and the following after that. Except I don't think that I am going to stay here for very long... I don't know why but I just have that feeling. I guess we will just have to wait and see. If I do stay, I will be happy nevertheless! We did have our baptism with a family. A mom whose name is Adilède and her 3 daughters Mervielle, Chrystelle and Vainqueur. They are so super nice and I hope that I will be able to send you a picture of them! It was a really good baptismal service! The ones here are a lot more organized and smoother than Togo... I don't know why. But it was nice to actually know that the baptismal font would be filled up and you didn't have to do it all yourself! Or have to bring water in on your head from another place because it is broken. That does happen often unfortunately. They were confirmed yesterday at church and they are really happy! The mom was in a Baptist church before, and when she bore her testimony, she was like, "hallelujah! Amen!!" Haha and everyone was super into it... I was just thinking to myself like... "It's just in their blood!" Because all of the members were even getting into it. Kinda funny. Here taxis are really hard to find, so you have to call them and they will come pick you up, but if you do it like that, it is SUPER expensive. But it is a lot easier than walking forever then not finding one. There are also tiny little cars here with 3 wheels and those are fun to take too but they are hard to find in our area.
Riding in our "Mini Bus". I made sure no one could steal my camera...

This morning we went to the big Marché here in Benin called Tokpa. It isn't as big as Togo's, but it was still good. I didn't buy anything because I guess the guy that usually sells the good Jatala ties weren't there... That is a really big brand here in Benin and all of the missionaries love them. I only have two... After we saw Sister Weed and that was pretty fun! She was with one of the helpers, that are in the office, buying some stuff. Sister Weed is a very nice lady! It was fun to see her. There was a guy there and he wouldn't stop leaving us alone because he wanted us to buy some pants, so I got angry with him and he got mad and threw water at me haha. He shouldn't have been bugging us so much... Weiner.

Nothing really exciting happened this week... Just a lot of walking and teaching and sweating and eating. It is a good time! It did rain two nights ago and that was good. I don't know why but when it rains it always makes me feel the closest to home. So that is a good thing! Talking to all of these Elders that are leaving in 20 days, among these people Elder Cline. It is just crazy to see all of these Elders leaving... I am going to miss them all so much! Out with the old and in with the new. Well I love all of you and hope that you have an amazing day! Tell everyone that I love em!

                        Love,
                                       Elder Landon Dean Layton
