"Computer Hug! Happy Birthday to the Best Mom in the Whole Wide World! THANKS MOM!!! I LOVE YOU!!" (sniff-sniff, he melts my heart :'-)

"No big deal... Just won the apartment inspection again!!! Whoo! Festival for everyone!"

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE BEST MOM IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD EVEN WHEN OTHER SONS TELL THEIR MOMS THAT THEY ARE THE BEST MOMS IN THE WORLD BUT THAT MAKES THEM LIARS BECAUSE MY MOM IS BETTER THAN ANY OTHER MOM THERE IS!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!!
Dear Family,
Well I guess that would be absolutely ridiculous if I didn't start off by telling my mother happy birthday!! Haha loved the hints that you were dropping to... As if you needed to!! I have had this date stocked out forever! One because you are literally the best mom in the world like I stated above, and two, if I forgot, that wouldn't be at all cool... I know that I have forgotten other people, but not you mom :) Never!
Trip to Moab
Well it sounded like you guys had a fun weekend!! Sam was telling me that it was all booked up. So you are lucky that you found a camp site! In all the years that I have lived in Utah, my whole life, I have never been to Moab.
That is on my bucket list of things to do. I loved the pictures too! Haha I love the one of Ben and the creepy little statue.
"Ben & the Creepy Little Statue"
That was pretty good. And of course all of the beautiful cars...
"Dad get your tool box ready!"
That makes me want to start a project car SO BAD! Dad, get your tool box ready ;) Ah.... It seems like only a month ago that I was writing you your birthday poem last year! (click here) I was in Benin still for the first time! A year ago... Haha insane! And I think you hit it on the head when you said that you are 51 years YOUNG! At the rate that time is passing right now, I feel like I will be at 51 years old in no time! Time is passing so fast here on the mission. I don't know what to think about it. But the faster the time passes, the faster that I will be home with my family!! Hooray!!!! Maybe even for Thanksgiving...? Haha can't stop thinking about it!!
The transfers are here... I am no longer living with The Peculiar Purple Pie Man from Porcupine Peak...(Elder Baird) He  is being transferred and there is an Elder that is coming from Madagascar... Alone once again... Oh well. It doesn't faze me! It is fun of course to be with another American.. Heck, me and Shums will be bros forever! I am still with Elder Kabongo... Another month and a half together... We will see how that goes. Someone has to do it. Elder Oliverson is going to be working where I started off! In Gbegamey. So you could tell his mom that! And she will know even before he does haha. That isn't too far from where I am from. He isn't in my zone though... No changes in my zone other than Elder Faerber. This transfer wasn't a very big one. But I am sure that I am going to be able to see the other new Elders. We were supposed to go on a split with Elder Baird and his companion, but Elder Baird's companion has been having some problem with his eyes.. So we weren't able to. I just realized that there will only  be 3 Americans in our whole zone! There are a ton out in Togo... I want to go back there so bad :( I miss Adwélè and Jacqueline! One of these days, one of these days...
"Mangez-vous" or just eating at a members house...
Eating with a lantern!? Heck yeah!
Their place doesn't have any electricity."
There is a sister in our branch that has been helping me with knowing a little about the clothes that I am doing for you all... I figured that all together, the MINIMUM price will be around $200.00.. That includes the fabric, and the work for it to be done... I am just spit balling it here too.. So if you could let me know what you think about that that would be good. I need to buy all the fabric, and then give it to the guy, who is going to do it, then I will have a firm price, then we can just see. You can just message me and we can talk about it there. I am really excited for it though!! They are going to be SO NICE! There might be some people matching... Like Jackson and Ben, and Ellie and Macey... That would be cool? Yeah it would be... Haha. This makes the mission fun! Little craziness... Get out of the loop ya know?
So for missionary work this week... It was pretty cut and dry. Gabriel is still going pretty good. His foot is fine now. He says he refused to put ice on it because it is too cold.. Haha silly. But it is still his wife that doesn't want to come to our church. She says that she has too many good friends at her church right now. Maybe it's not their time yet... But soon, one day they are going to be ready! We have found a lot of new investigators as well which is always nice. We have an amie named Natasha. She is TOTALLY ready to be baptized... She is the one that stopped us. That's when you know they are ready! When they come to you. Or that we aren't in tune with the spirit..? Haha just kidding. But she was getting ready to come to church and I guess her dad freaked out and said that he wanted to talk to us first before she made a decision... Kinda lame but we are going to try and see him in the week and try and talk to him. We have been praying that he will let his daughter go through with it. Maybe even he will come along for the ride too! Talking to their mom though it doesn't seem like they are married.. Unfortunately... Always will come up and get you in the end!
Well I think I will close this with a little something for my awesome mom... Mom, I love you so much. You have always been there for me, even when I have been miles away from you! Every email that you send me seems to always make me smile! Even the things that you would think are little, are great to me! I love the fact that you are always there when I need something. Always asking me if I need anything in a package, or any money, or just anything! I don't think that I could ask for another mom better than you.. It just isn't possible! I just imagine myself sitting in our living room eating chocolate chip cookies while watching some TV show! I have grown such a love for you over the last year and a half. I really realize all that you do for me! Cleaning, dishes, cooking.. That stuff just doesn't happen by itself! And if there is anyone out there that thinks that it's by magic... Think again, turn to your mom and give her a hug and say, "THANKS MOM!!! I LOVE YOU!!" Even with a bunch of Africans watching me... I just hugged my computer! Computer hug! I love you so much mom and I can't wait to talk to you on Mother’s day!! So soon!! Have an awesome day, and I hope that you had an awesome birthday as well!
Love your son,

                      Elder Landon Dean Layton
"The whole family! The lady on the right and the guy sitting down are husband and wife. That is Brother Santos, the one that helps us every single day. He lives the life of a missionary.. He is so amazing!! I would really like to help him out someday before I leave this sector... But he didn't want to smile, like no one does here, so they were trying to make him! The lady on the far left is the one that does my laundry!"
*He said that he could use 2 more bottles of Wingers Amazing Sauce and that he LOVES the dehydrated chili that I sent him. Said that it's really good over rice! Also that he ate the trail mix I sent him in 3 days. I see a box going to Elder Layton full of chili, wingers sauce and trail mix very soon!
*I thanked him for his letter and told him it made me cry! He said not to cry or he would cry and I said, ya okay don't cry! ;)
