"You will be an official representative of the Church . . . Your purpose will be to invite others to come unto Christ . . . ...about the Book of Mormon... It is incredible. I love it so much!

"It really is insane
how right it is.
There are no faults,
none at all."
Dear Family,

Thank you so much for your letter! It sounds like you guys had a really fun week! I mean obviously not much going on... But nevertheless it sounds like you guys had a good time! Shelby's birthday, going up to PC, hanging out with all of the Miller clan... I can only imagine how stressed those people were at Joy Luck having to serve 21 loud people! Haha I guess it's not as bad as 22 though... That is the number of people that would have been there if I was there!

This week has been pretty good. Once again, it has passed by very fast!! I cannot even believe that I have already been here in Anfamé for a month! I really will be home before I know it! And I don't know if I am excited for that or not... Because I am really liking the mission right now! I am liking our amis, our branch, my companion, everything! I am really hoping that this is where I am going to finish my mission. If I get transferred before December I will be devastated, I don't want to start a new sector and new amis and all that stuff right before I go home... Other missionaries have done that and they said that it isn't cool! So let’s pray that I will be able to stay put for another 18 weeks! Me and my companion currently have 9 baptismal dates fixed, and 5 progressing amis... That's what you get when you just do what you are supposed to do and aren't stupid! Haha loving the mission!

I don't really have much to write to you this week to be honest... We just had a lot of lessons and not much going on. Oh yeah! I went on a split with Elder Gnenenon in Ablogamé (Where Elder Layton served 8 months) and it was horrible! I thought that I would like being back there and seeing all the old faces and places... But I hated it! Haha I felt like I was back in the past a year ago and didn't move forward! Luckily I didn't sleep in my same bed, not even the same room. That would have been too much! Haha I really didn't like it! It was weird! The only good part about it was that I got to see Agathe! And that was fun! We took a picture! You'll see it later I guess... I have to try and send some pictures to some other missionaries of Beatrice's baptism, so I might try and download some pictures and send them too you. I know that you would love that! And if I get a virus and all my pictures are erased, then it's all your fault! No I'm just kidding.. I'll be careful!

I guess I could talk about how much I have been learning about the Book of Mormon... I have been learning TONS AND TONS about it! Like crazy amounts! Well a lot about it to me... Haha seeing that I didn't really know anything before the mission. It really is insane how right it is. There are no faults, none at all. Everyone who is like,"Oh yeah Joseph Smith totally just wrote them himself yada yada yada" I am just like, WHAT!? You're crazy man... Read it yourself and you'll see... You'll see! I love that book; More than anything. Read it every day!

Like for example this week I was studying about how Nephi saw the destruction of his brothers seed in the latter days and how Gentiles from all over the world came to America and settled there. But then they brought a bunch of sicknesses with them like the bubonic plague and yellow fever and all sorts of plants and animals and rats causing all the Native Americans to get sick and die off little by little. They were even enslaved in their own homeland and shipped to Europe and all the hardships that they experienced. And how before all of that happened how America was hidden until 1492 when Christopher Columbus found it. And he himself saying that he was helped by the Lord in being blessed to be able to accomplish finding America and being lead by the spirit. ALL of that seen in Nephi's vision 600 years before Jesus Christ was even born! It is incredible. I love it so much!
"Happy Birthday Shelby! 18!!! Whooo!!!
I can't believe it! That is insane that you
are already 18! I remember when you
were just a little tyke throwing tantrums
in our Centerville house! I guess not much
has changed... ;) Obviously kidding...
I hope that you had a happy birthday
and that you had a good day! I'll be there
for the next one for sure :)" -Your Brother

Well that is really all that I have for today.. I don't have much to say to be honest. I hope that you all have a good week! I love you and I will talk to you next Monday! CTR!

Love,

Elder Landon Dean Layton
