"I am pretty blessed with such amazing parents aren't I?" (YES, he is! ;)

"This is how Elder Baird and I teach about how much prosecution Joseph Smith received from the evil people... That a huge dinosaur came and threw up evil people with laser guns and the huge scary guy from Lord of the Rings was there too. Needless to say, the kids totally understood."
Dear Family,

Oh my heck! Cline is gone!! As I went over to him and asked him what he was feeling a couple minutes before President came to pick him up he said, "I've just got the butterflies..."  My time will come... It'll come... Soon enough. But yeah it was pretty hard seeing all of them leave. They all left late Saturday night. I got to see all of them at the baptismal service and got a picture with them all too. I did send a memory card home with Elder Cline so you will have to talk to him about that! I know you were looking forward to that. Putting the question
IN ALL RED!!! Haha love you mom :) That is good to hear that the boat is still coming along! Is he still planning on painting it orange? I know he was thinking about that at one point in time.. I am excited to see some pictures of you guys boating this summer! I'LL BE HOME FOR CHRISTMAS!!! Yahoo!! (I told him that the neighbors house would be going up for sale soon and he's always asking if any hot new girls have moved onto the street;) And about the hot new girl that is going to move into the Dolder’s house, I already know it is going to happen so you don't even have to say anything about it. I KNOW it'll happen. Totally looking forward to it. The new dining room looks super awesome! I am so impressed with all of your skills! Dads craftsmanship, moms decorating. I am pretty blessed with such amazing parents aren't I? It was good to hear from you guys and everyone else as well! Even though I only have one email in my inbox every week and it's from you... Haha I don't mind though! It is hard to write a lot of people. Not like I know anyways... kidding again!

Well this week went by pretty quick! It is insane to think that I have already been in Benin for almost more than a month! Time sure does fly when you're having fun. Being in the threesome was pretty fun too. I got to work with Elder Cline. Does that mean that I can say that I have had an American companion now..? Working with some is just like I remembered... I kinda feel like Nephi.... Like I still love them, like Nephi loved his brothers, but that doesn't change the fact that they can be selfish and apostate... I dunno.  I just don't really wanna talk about it. Because no one likes a complainer. Right? Our sector is doing really well. Just still getting to know our amis and all the members. We live by a lot of the members so it is easier to have lessons in the presence of a member and that is always welcomed for sure! When you get a testimony of a member in the lessons it helps a ton. There is a member that helps us almost every day. His name is Santos. He is a boss! I really like him a lot. I will try to take a picture with him and send it. We did have a baptism with 2 women named Rita and Sophia. I didn't really know them, but it was still really good!

I have lost so much muscle :(... I am a skinny wiener. I hate it..  I am going to hit the gym super hard when I get back, after I get my wrist fixed that is. Can't even do a freaking push up without disabling my wrist. But yeah and actually eat some healthy food... Whooo!! I am hoping it'll be easy to put it back on when I get home... But yeah the missionary work is going well! Our zone is doing well. I got to talk to Elder Poll sending in the keys (reports) and that is fun. It is kinda weird how much people look towards me now... It is a good experience.

Well I don't really have much to say this week... I am just happy to be out here doing what I am doing. There is really no better place than here on the mission for me. I really do have a testimony of this gospel. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I know also that a man can come closer to God by reading it, meditating about it, and then asking our Father in Heaven if it's true. I hope you guys have a good week and I can't wait to hear from you next week!

                        Love,
                                    Elder Landon Dean Layton

* He said that he's loving the hot showers and even took a warm bath the other night!
* Said he did meet Elders Allred, Gray and Richie and talked to them for a bit.
* Said he really likes trail mix so I'm adding some to his box to send him.
* And he has an oven in his apartment so I could send him another cake mix. Said he baked his birthday cake from November and it was really good!
* He told me that I'm funny and that I really am the best! I'll take that any day! :)
