"You will be an official representative of the Church . . . Your purpose will be to invite others to come unto Christ . . . Greater blessings and more happiness than you have yet experienced await you as you humbly and prayerfully serve the Lord in this labor of love among His children." . . . Thomas S. Monson

Walk in The Light of Christ

Hellllo family!
How is everyone!? I am doing really well myself! I liked your hand written letter mother. It was very nice to see your beautiful handwriting. Everything here is going really, really good! I think I am officially used to the MTC now... Took 4 weeks, but I think I'm there! The language is going really good still! Slowly just surely progressing and getting better! Elder Burkhart and I prepared a lesson to teach an investigator and we only had 20 minutes to do it about how God is our loving Heavenly Father and all that. I taught first and taught the whole lesson, all in French, for 20 minutes. It was sick tight. We didn't get to our whole lesson which wasn't good, but I was speaking French and all and it was really cool! I am not looking forward to getting to know this French and then when I get to Africa, hear a totally different kind of French! Haha we'll see how that goes!
*Not this lady ;)
A lady from Personal Affairs came in and talked to us and told us that they will probably ask us really weird questions about the Mormon church like "How much do we get paid" and "Why we chose to go on a mission". Keep in mind these people aren't members so you can't really say "To serve the Lord and bring people unto Christ." At least we weren't supposed to say that. It was just crazy and intimidating! It wasn't bad though. They asked me where I was serving and I said answered a couple questions in French and it wasn't that bad at all! Elder Taylor answered all the questions haha. He's the one with 7 years of French.
It was a good experience though!

I finally saw Monson the other day! I gave him a huge hug in the cafeteria and ate with him. I have done that a couple times actually... I eat with him or Tanner. But mostly with my companion and district. It's always nice to see familiar faces around though! I think I know like 20 kids here I swear haha. Just random kids from Viewmont that I went to school with.  Then there is Fisher, Newman, Grayston, Monson, Tanner, and a couple other kids. It's fun! Dymock is in my Zone so I get to see him quite often.
I got my haircut today! It was weird not having either Ty, my mom, or my sister cutting my hair hahaha. Those are the only 3 people who have ever touched my hair! It looks good though. Looking like a missionary! When I leave, I will probably get a "2" all the way around... That's the shortest you can go. Which I was surprised to find out!

Can I get a list of peoples birthdays in our family and some of my friends...? The only persons Birthday I know is Shelby's for some reason! August, 3. So yeah that would be helpful! Thank you. We got a new Teacher the other day. His name is Brother Parsons and he served in the Congo. He is super cool! I like him a lot!! He is from California but is going to BYU. It's crazy how many RM's go to BYU haha. All the teachers here are fresh off their missions and going to BYU. Kind of funny.

Time is really flying by here... It is crazy to think that I have already been gone for about a month! Longest time I have been aways from my family.... I miss you guys!! You guys are always in my prayers and I care so much about all of you! It sounds like Dad is doing really well.  It sounds like everything at home is going really good and that's good to hear! I can't wait to hear back from you guys! You're all in my prayers and remember to always Walk in the Light of Christ! (we learned a lot about that this week) but yeah it's important! Okay bye :) TTYL!
