"You will be an official representative of the Church . . . Your purpose will be to invite others to come unto Christ . . . Welcome to Africa package sent!

Shelby and I went to the post office the other day and mailed our first package. We thought it would be fun for Landon to have it for when he arrived to help ease the culture shock. Mostly inside we have packaged foods that you just add water to. Kylee and I bought; gravy packets, alfredo mix, soups, pasta sides, drink mixes to add to water, stove top stuffing, peanut m&m's, twizzlers, beef jerky, blow pop suckers and gold bond powder. I was shocked at how much fit in the box! We understand that the water there does not taste good so drink mixes are a must have. He will only have a 2 burner hotplate and no oven. I think he will eat a lot of rice so the sauce/gravy mixes will be a welcomed variety change for him.  We also included a photo book of pictures and many notes and letters from family and friends welcoming him to Africa! The cost to send it was $60 which at first I thought was so much money but then I thought... What If I asked someone, "Hey would you mind taking this box to Africa for me and please give it to Landon? I will pay you $60 for your trouble."  When I think of it that way it sounds like such a deal!!!
In his luggage we sent peanut butter, protein bars, beef jerky, spices, a years supply of toothpaste, deodorant, body wash and shampoo....  plus so much more! It just might cost us a small fortune to get his bags there!  Cheaper than mailing it though, plus then we know he'll have it for sure.
