I Love Every Single Second Of It

Dear Papa,

Sorry it had taken me so long to get back to you with this letter! It is for sure overdue. Don't really have an excuse either... You know what they say, "excuses are ...... every ones got one and they all stink!" Haha. Used that one a couple times out here. It doesn't really make sense in French so when I tell my companions they just look at me. But yeah sorry about that. It sounds like you are doing good and busy with football! I know though before I know it that I will be back home fully engaged in it again! But for right now, I am more than happy with being engaged in the work of the Lord!

Football sounds like it is taking up a lot of your time. Which is not a bad thing at all! I know you love to do it. If not, you wouldn't put so much time into it, right?.....   I heard that Bountiful is doing well! And that Jordan Hayes is just tearing it up in the QB1 spot. He is only a JR right? What have you been hearing or seeing about Bountiful? From what I understand they are doing really good! As for Viewmont on the other hand... that is rough! They haven't won a game! If I'm not mistaken.. But you are totally right. Those kids were athletes in little league and they should be doing a lot better than they are now. They lost to Granger dad... GRANGER! And it was their homecoming... There is something wrong with that for sure. It will be interesting to see what happens in the future.

On a different note, the missionary work it going great out here! We finally had a baptism, as you have probably already heard. That was a relief! I was happy to get that "pay day". We keep just going door to door and pushing along. It is super nice not to have the language be a problem for me anymore... Like you said, it is a lot easier to focus on the work when you don't have to worry about how you want to say something. My studies continue, and with that is my testimony of the veracity of the gospel. It is crazy to think of how much I have learned, and how much I still don't know. The hardest thing for me has been the fact that I can't remember where I read or studied something. I suck at memorizing scriptures haha. I guess it is just something that comes with time. Overall the whole missionary experience is still going great and I love every single second of it.

I hope that everything on the home front is going well! I pray for you guys and your work each and everyday, multiple times a day! I am so grateful for all that you do for me dad and I know that I will be home before I know it! Keep up the good work, especially on the boat ;) Haha just kidding. Okay I love you and I hope you have a great week!

                        Love your son,
                                              Elder Landon Dean Layton
