"You will be an official representative of the Church . . . Your purpose will be to invite others to come unto Christ . . . Greater blessings and more happiness than you have yet experienced await you as you humbly and prayerfully serve the Lord in this labor of love among His children." . . . Thomas S. Monson

A note and picture from Sister Semken

On their way to Togo.
Dear Sister Layton,

I ran and got my camera on Tuesday right before Elder Layton and Elder Mundu left to go to Togo. Elder Semken took these great missionaries and Elder and Sister Eastmond to the Togo Border. The Eastmonds are going over to replace the Leavitt's until the Christensen's come in September. He looks great, doesn't he! President Weed needs Elder Layton over in Togo. I told him that it is a great compliment that President Weed would send him back over to Togo.

Elder Semken and I had lunch with their apartment a week before. They won the cleanest apartment in June and really deserved it for several months. We are happy to know your wonderful son. We have been very busy so this is the first chance I have had to send this picture to you. Elder Layton laughed and said I hope I can find a Cyber Cafe on Monday or you will get to talk with my Mom again.

I do remember meeting you at the Southam's homecoming. We heard it was very hot in Utah, hope you get to have Fireworks for the 4th of July. No fireworks here!
